Can I use PC RAM in my 12" iBook combo 900Mhz? Do I risk anything in doing so? What kind do I need?

SODIMM. Preferably PC100 but PC133 will do, that's what I added to my iBook. When you say "PC RAM" I hope you don't mean desktop RAM, those are larger and won't fit in the slot. It's a different form factor, gotta use SODIMM which is specific to notebooks. iMac flat panels are the exception because it too uses notebook memory.

Yeah cool, I meant laptop RAM. I think i'll do the same as you did! Cheaper then the Mac Store!

Hehehe, I didn't say where I bought my RAM. Yup, Apple store. Expensive, but at least I can bitch at someone if it didn't work. If I bought 3rd party RAM and it didn't work they'll tell me "well you didn't buy 'certified' RAM."
Advice: I cut my finger trying to remove the keyboard to get at the SODIMM socket. So be careful. And hope you have really small phillips screwdriver like from a jewlery repair kit. You'll have to remove a metal plate to get at the socket.
