I've got a new 17" G4 Laptop and i find my self often straining to listen to anything through these speakers. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to boost the volume. Weather it be through manipulation of an EQ or anything like that. Any help would be much appreciated.

External speakers?

no way but external speakers. They are not that costy...

You should be able to find some decent speakers that you can carry around for not too much money. Sell a textbook or part of your body if you have to. ;)

Sure (to both questions)....

could try tweaking the volume on the song itself. choose the song in itunes and then cmd i (get info). Choose options, it gives a chance to increase the volume and choose an equalizer preset.
