Does anyone know of any hardware to share music from the Macintosh. I'm talking about hardware that connects to your stereo but will access your Mac network. PC users have lots of choices like Linksys Media server, or AudioTron (http://www.turtlebeach.com/site/products/audiotron/producthome.asp), and many others that interface with the PC. Are there any for the Mac? I know of Xtron, but that's the only one.
Thanks.

AudioTron works with Macs, so does SqueezeBox, and GameShark Media Player for the playstation 2 works with Macs.

The best place to check for hardware is to go to the Apple Web site:
http://guide.apple.com/index.lasso
This is the Made4Mac section. Just click on hard ware and check it out.

Actually the best site for mp3 hardware for interfacing with a stereo is: http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/kb13/mp3. It's a list of just about every known device that can stream mp3's to a reciever.

Great site! The Apple site (previous post) lists lots of audio hardware companies, but further investigation reveals only 2 companies with mp3 servers, and one of them (Barix) only supports PC software to run their hardware.
So your site provides a great synopsis. Thanks.
