Hello,

I'm connected to the net via DSL.
Our box (decoder) is permanently connected to the net.
The box is connected via ethernet to the Mac.

How to know whether my Mac transfers data to the net ?

How to set up the firewall (is the one from OsX enough) ?

Thanks,
Matthieu

The built in firewall should be sufficient.
You could use a shareware program called "Little Snitch" to see if any data is being transferred to the Net, though I wouldn't bother.

Are the lights on your modem blinking...?

And yeah, the Mac OS X built-in firewall should be good enough for most people.

thanks for your posts ...

The modem has no lights, only the hour is shown (it's ment to be in the living room, cause it can receive and display TV ...).

The built in firewall is activated now.

I'm still wondering how the surf is possible and not something else ... (trojans, etc ...)
