Is it possible to use this on both a mac and a windows machine?

i.e.

i use it on my mac - unplug it - take it over to my pc and use it there - and then unplug it and take it...you get the picture!

any help much appreciated!

Acording to that link, yes, it's compatible with both Windows and Macs.
