I just sold an iMac!

My neighbor asked me today, "What computer should I get? I don't have alot of money, and I just want to get on the Internet and send e-mails and stuff."

co-incidentally, we both met up at the circuit city store... (totally by accident!) and she asked me what was good... first I said, "Well, there is a Dell that's only $599 that would be okay." and then she said that she'd consider it.

Well, I went over to the Apple area and started playing around with the iBook... DAMN IT'S AN AWESOME LITTLE SYSTEM!!! She asked what I was doing and I told her that these are the best systems she can buy! It was a 500 MHz Indigo iMac G3... she said that she really liked it, so I recommended that she buy it... she loved it... even my dad recommended it, and he doesn't really like macs!

so she bought it... i left before she did, but she called and told us...

I JUST MADE THE MARKET SHARE INCREASE!!!!

now i gotta tell them what programs CAN or CAN'T run on a Mac... oh well, it gives me time to run around with OS X!

Good stuff, BlingBling. I'm sure you're neighbour will be much happier with their iMac than she would with a Dell. She sounds like the sort of person who will appreciate its simplicity. As for software, I'm not aware of anything worth having that we haven't got access to. Also, she'll be much happier in twelve months time when the Dell is only worth a quarter its original price and the iMacs are still selling in the classifieds for 70-80% of their purchase price.
And, BTW, when she has come to grips with the web, refer her here!

will do!

when i meant that i'd tell her what can or can't run, is by games for her daughter...

i'd have to tell her what to look for (is it OS X ready? is it even for mac?) because the walmart rarely sells any games for the Mac...

i don't even think our mall has a lot of Mac anything...

oh well, that's what the internet's for!
