Yet another stereotype for us the "Mac-Users"

So, we've seen that German cars are the preferred car for 35% of the board (above all other cars)

We've also seen 33% of Mac-users are long hairs, with an un-determined percentage being "used to be's."

Now the next stereo-type to be demographically proven right or wrong...

"All mac-users are outdoor lovin' hippies."

Well now, let's nix the "hippie" thing, after all "hippie" is relative.

So "Do you like the outdoors?" For discussion, how active are you outside? (Not as in say, I stay outside for 5 minutes vigourously rubbing my scalp whilst running in circles, but more do you go out often.)

Personally, I'd love a job working with Macs and being outside in the deep woods. Unfortunately the two don't go along perfectly. I spend at least one weekend a month in moderately deep forest. (Few trails, mostly ungroomed and the animals don't keep a mile wide berth from you and them.)

I don't get out as much as I'd like to. I have lots of work to do on my computer, plus I never get enough sleep. Although latley I've been wanting to go play some mini golf.

I'm with you, twyg. Of course, the deep woods thing isn't really practical in Tucson. Change that to deep desert, and keep in mind that the majority of the animals are lizards.

But I want a tele-commuting development job so I can use my laptop and satellite connection from the middle of nowhere...

i am sure that i fit the stereotype of a mac user in almost everyway you phrase it.

And proud of it.

but frankly, real hippies don't own computers. that would be a far too material possesion.

which just goes to show how ignorant the people who create sterotypes are

No argument with the ignorance part, but why wouldn't real hippies have, say, a communal TiBook?

I hike around in the mountains behind my parents house. You can get a wonderful view of a lot of the cities below. I love communing with nature.

...and I sometimes take my iPod. Depends upon if I'm in the mood for the naturally occuring chirping birds, or Barenaked Ladies.

Work project is killing me, but if I don't have to work, I'd love to spend more time lounging in the Sun.
