| I like IMAP, wherever I go, whether using a web mail interface, using Outlook, Mail.app, whatever machine I am on, I always have all my folders, all my mail available to me. With POP, you can sort your mail into folders, but these folders are only available on your primary machine. Also, unless you set your mail to be saved on the server, you run the chance of having your mail scattered on various machines that you access your mail from. You also have a central location for your SENT items and TRASH as well. I am a IMAP user & proud of it. |

| IMAP IMAP for all the reasons Admin stated. Mobility is key. It's what people are good at doing.

| ok. I'm currently using IMAP on my mac.com account, but I won't have that for long, so I need to know what to look for. (and yes I'm also considering a macosx.com account )

| IMAP. I use outlook on my PC at work and something else on my Mac at home (right now I just use pine...Entourage has some annoyances and I haven't gotten around to setting up Mail again (long story)). IMAP leaves my messages on the server. Anytime, anyplace, and I can get them. As for a Macosx.com account, I went for the redirect option. I'm feeling quite elite with my earector@macosx.com account. ![]()

| i've always been using a sympatico pop account! o wait i haven't nvm But i use hotmail like a pop account, cuz i use Entourage. It's pretty cool, and i only use my computer to check my email, so that local machine thing doesn't matter. Pop accounts are more flamable. Sh*t, wtf am i talking about? ok, nvm wut i said. Don't do drugs.

| IMAP Hiya. I prefer IMAP. Becuase i check my mail from all sorts of places - so it works out better. May I also point out that allyaya.com is offering IMAP Access to email with 5Mb of Storage, and more if you need it. We wont charge, we will just increase it for free. In Fact, [i will confirm later on today] we may well be giving unlimited space - becuase we are in effect allowed unlimited space for mail. This is a very likely option. Look out for unlimited Space! Kind Regards, Asif Alibhai |
