| Hello all. I've seen several instances where uptime has been spoken of as a point of pride. How stable is OSX on average? Let's find out... For all of you that sleep your Mac instead of shutting it down every night (or run OS X servers), post your uptime and we'll find out how stable OS X is. My current uptime (launch the terminal app hiding in the Utilities folder and type 'uptime'): up 11 days, 16:17, 2 users, load averages: 0.65 0.59 0.53 P.S. Any comparisons to other OSs would be good.

| I recently had to take down all my systems so that the power could be worked on in my apartment. So right now I'm at... up 6 days, 17:59, 2 users, load averages: 0.76, 0.70, 0.50At the time I shut everything down, this system was at 61 days. The last two uptimes before that were 133 days and 231 days. As for other systems, I've gotten well over 200 days with my Rhapsody systems, I was around 300 days on my Sun at one point and I've been over 400 days with my SGI before. |

| Mine currently says: up 5 days, 18:36, 3 users, load averages: 2.91 2.11 2.08 - but basically, it all depends on me installing software updates from Apple or third party software that requires reboots... ![]()

| The last time I had to shut down for performance reasons was in May. Still - since mid-June we have power failures an average of 6 times a week so uptime is just a day or two. 12:36 up 2 days, 3:29, 2 users, load averages: 0.16 0.10 0.09 |

| I am up and running, with frequent sleep periods for the average of five days. I just recently did a restart, after some maintenance with ONYX. |
