Right or left handed?

Just curious.

Sometimes it looks like there is a big amount of people among Mac users that are left handed... shall it be worth a poll? Which one do you use?

I used to use the computer right-handed, but since I started using the Mac at my parents house (this was in 1995 when we bought our first Mac, the Performa 6220CD) I was forced to uyse the mouse on the left side since my desk didn't allow me to place the mouse on the right in the configuration it was in. The desk was an L-shaped desk with the keyboard traay in the center, and the only place that had room for my Kawai K4 synth was the right side, which forced me to use the mouse on the left. It was weird at first, but I eventually got used to it and since it was a one-button mouse it didn't matter as much.

I kept that desk when I moved out, so when I had a PC I stuck with the same configuration. I also got used to playing FPS games this way, and it seems like the optimal setup to have the mouse on the left and the arrow controls on the right. And they are the perfect distance from one another.

At work, I use the mouse on the right, be it a Mac or PC, since I really don't have a need to have it on the left side. But at home I keep it on the left because it's what I've been used to, and for gaming (either on the Mac or PC), it's much easier for me.

Since I play keyboards, I always try and keep both hands as nimble and adept as possible. This meant that I had to train my left hand to do much more than my right (and yes, I know this leave me open to being taken out of context, but I'm hoping that me bringing it up <no puns please > will prevent others from thinking it.....or not...). So yes, I've basically trained myself to be fluid on both hands. (I'm diggin myself deeper here....time to stop... )

naturally left handed. computer right handed.

i used to (when i was about 12) use it left handed, but i thought i was flying in the face of adversity, so i changed. (partly becuase i was a gamer, and there are far more keys within easy reach around W,S,A and D than there are around the arrows.)

Macraze is on a distinguished road
back to the right side.

I am right handed, as a kid I wanted to be left handed, started to practice writing with my left hand, learnt how to kick hard ball with the left foot, but went back to the right side.

Right. I have a second mouse hooked up on my left side, but I rarely have occasion to use it, and it's definitely harder (although I attribute that more to lack of practice than some innate difference between the sides). I'd certainly never use it primarily, anyway, since all the common command-keys are on the left side (command-W, Q, Z/X/C/V, F, S, A....yeah, you get the idea). I only really use it when my right hand is busy with the number pad.

The only thing I'm really better at with my left hand is using directional controllers on game pads, since that's what I have more practice with. I can't use the right-side analog sticks on the PS2 or GameCube controllers well at all.
