One Laptop Per Child Initiative

This is an interesting find. I believe its a great idea.

The design really caught my eye, I think that kids will really latch onto this.

Any educators out there that can comment on this?

!!! So cool!

I heard Apple offered to supply OS X for free to a $100-laptop initiative which eventually chose Linux. These are the first details I've heard of it, though.

It sounds good to me. REALLY good. And long overdue. It's weak by today's standards, but it's still a few hundred times more powerful than the first computer my family owned — and I owe just about everything I know today to that computer!

The case design is interesting. I never thought I'd see a laptop that you could charge with a crank, but hey, if it works it works.

Less childish design, and that'd be what the adults in the poor countries need.

The only problem I see is (and it may help) is the crank. A lot of people's arms arm going to become tired.
