| Google Earth Comment Hey... just wondering if anyone could give me input as to why my state (Indiana) is the only state in U.S.A. that is completely grey. I mean, I know we're a bunch of dumb corn growin' ol' boys, but that's just mean... (Btw, I absolutely hate the undying and irrefutably ingratiating stereotype that we're all lowly educated farmers. I mean, did you see People -I think it was People, not sure- a couple months ago? According to them, we were (or are) the fattest, stupidest state in the nation.)

| I didn't even realize that until you mentioned it. I think of Indiana as one of the last true American states. It's like Mississippi only with an education.

| It's grey because you people are boring. Actually, it may be grey, but it seems as though your state has more high-resolution photos than the surrounding states... so... it may not be green, but it's more detailed.... I guess because all the photography is cobbled together from different sources and they don't try to match the colors, you get all sorts of wackiness like that. Have you looked at the LA basin? It's patchy like crazy.

| Grey? I don't know, but it is a state that produced such famous 'Hoosiers' as Abraham Lincoln, John Dillinger, Cole Porter, Wes Montgomery, Will Hays, Colonel Sanders (KFC) and of course Eli Lilly, the founding father of the hugely succesfull pharmaceutical company, Lilly. I have attached a picture of Colonel Lilly (right) with his old mate Colonel Jackson (left). Looks like they were good buddies.

| The aerial pics used by all the services originate from the USGS, which takes them at varying times using a grid system. Some are as old as 10 or 15 years, so that's probably a small part of the issue. The other part most likely deals with weather conditions...the weather may not have been the best when those pictures were taken.
