| Old iMac Battery Hi MacTribe I'm into my iMac G5. I just set my old iMac G3 aside. Now, I'm wondering how I can make some use of it. I love it and won't toss it. But, questions: 1) Is it still alive? Does it have some kind of battery that keeps all the inner gears working if I plug it in. Or will it blow up? 2) If I eradicate all that's on there, will I be able to reinstall programs and will they still work? Is there a central question/answer center for this process? Thanks, You Guys are Giants! |

| The only battery you might have to deal with is the PRAM battery. On the iMac G3, I don't know if there is one but it's only a matter of opening it up. BE CAREFUL IF YOU DECIDE TO OPEN IT UP AS THE CAN LETHALLY ELECTROCUTE YOURSELF WITH THE CRT COMPONENTS! Other than that, everything should work fine. As for question 2, if you still have the discs that came with the iMac then you should be able to reinstall everything that came with that iMac. If you still can't find a use for it, donate if to a friend or to Goodwill.
