Angry Apple Being Difficult..?

I posted about my failing hard drive in the Hardware support section last night and I mentiond about my AppleCare issue.
I bought it sometime between gettin g my iBook last February and the Christmas just gone.
I tried to register it yesterday and it won't let me becuase the iBook is over a year old.

Is it me, or apple just being plain difficult on that?
The way I see it is, I paid for an extra 2 years cover. I should get 2 extra years of cover. Whether I register in January 2008 or if I registered in February 2005, I should still be coveed untill February 2006 - a toal of 3 years.

They may argue that I get 2 years cover starting from when I register the applecare. If so, I'm still covered to february 2007 [b]at least[b]. If I didn't register it until the last possible day, I would get until February 2008 again.

I'm just not happy with how Apple are dealing this issue.
Surely I should get cover untll February 2008 independent of when I register?

Besides, anyway you look at it, I should be covered for now.

This policy is quite resonable — if you could register after the warranty expired, anyone could buy AppleCare after an issue arose and would basically be covered under a three year warranty.

Where do you live? Most European countries have a two year or longer warranty on such products by law.

I live in the UK.
The point is, I bought the AppleCare within the first year - just didn't register.

Anyway, Apple have seemed to sort it out now. Waiting for confirmation...
