Unhappy Venting: MBP off for second replacement

So I'm deeply wound up today. I sent of my shiny new MBP off just under 2 weeks after I got it as it had a vertical line on the display, i guess something wrong with the video system somehow. Replacement was a bit slow but OK, and yesterday I got my new machine back. So I spent all last night installing and configuring (all the Mac apps plus parallels plus bootcamp plus all the PC s/w).

This morning i noticed a weird noise, experimented and found I had the screen buzz - an odd noise you get when the screen is at anything but minimum or maximum brightness. So back on the phone to Apple and another pickup and replacement shipped, except I am traveling from next week so I won't get the machine back till the 8th January .

Applecare have been ok, I'm just pissed at the QA today as I really didn't want to do do another round of setup and be without the machine over xmas - i have an old powerbook but the windows side is needed for accessing work stuff while I travel so i have to carry by PC laptop too now....

Anyway, no real questions, just needed to vent, badly. Here's hoping none of you guys have the same experience.

i feel your pain ... I just replaced my ibook with a new MacBook last Friday. On Friday I was experiencing random shut downs. I decided to wait the weekend before bringing it back to the shop. I haven't had anymore RSS since Friday. But Saturday I had problems with the internal speakers - if I played something in iTunes, it was fine for about 20 seconds, and then would start buzzing very loudly. That happened all day Saturday. It's been find since. THEN, last night, it wouldn't go into sleep mode when I closed the lid. I am also hearing a rattle when I move the machine (tilt it). I am thinking that there is something that has broken off inside the machine. So, I will be going back to the store this afternoon and hoping that they will open it up on site. I am very fearful that it will be sent away and I'll be without for a few weeks.
