| friend's band nice to see songs being posted, and i'd thought i'd post my mate's song he recorded a couple of weeks ago. the singer is the younger brother (col) and the guitarist and backing is the older brother (cam). together they are 'fink'. I reckon it's a top song, and makes for good fun sitting around after a party and singing craptasticly at the top of your lungs... Fink - Punk Rock Song

| Hahaha, that's hilarious! Everyone should listen to that song. Though I have to say...it's not really punk rock...needs drums! But it sounds great. They have anything else they're willing to let someone listen to?

| wdw, some constructive criticism: not bad for an early recording effort. dunno how you're recording this (meaning how many mic's, if you're doing it live or overdubbing, etc) so it's rather hard to advise but here's what i think. your snare drum is way too quiet. i can barely hear the kick either. on the other hand, the cymbals sound too loud, but that's cause the drums themselves are quiet. guitar sounds like it's running straight into the recorder...this doesn't work with distortion, you have to mic the amp. for rock, i would recommend you double track the guitar. you get a much fuller sound this way... the bass seems loud, but this might be cause the guitar is rather quiet. _ just some thoughts off the top of my head while listening. like i said, not bad for an early effort. the key to recording is experimentation. and mixing is like a juggling act. keep messing around and you can only get better at it. ![]() |
