Problems with the resolution under mac os9.1

hi,
I´ve a cube 450 dvd ati rage 128/16 mac os 9.1 clean installed from the os x cd´s and problems to run open gl games e.g. terminus with a resolution higher than 640x480. It seems to be a mac os problem, because machines with an upgraded os 9.1 haven´t any probs.

can someone help me ?
