    Question Need a suggestion

Would this be a nice computer just to have for normal, day-to-day use?

EDIT: Computer Link (that might help ): http://www.dvwarehouse.com/products/23657.html

(Where would I get OS X cheap?)

    Thanks for your input.

    P.S. - I was also thinking a 512MB RAM upgrade:

It depends on what you take as "normal" use. I've used this model of iMac before on a couple of different occasions, and it seems responsive and up-to-par in the larger non-video apps. It would be fine with Quark, AppleWorks, TextEdit, Safari/FireFox, and maybe some Photoshop'ing. I would greatly advise you to get that 512 RAM upgrade, it would make a world of difference.

You can get OSX fairly cheap off of eBay.(If it were me, I would go for Panther instead of Tiger)

    Here's a link I found within a couple seconds on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...199614297&rd=1

    Cheers.

but why spend $400 plus memory plus tax and/or shipping for a G3? are you trying to start an antique collection?

    Hehe!

I'd say you're better off with a more modern G4 when you want to run OS X. Like an eMac G4 or something like that. I'm sure you can get those ones fairly cheap on eBay.
