MacPro boot up from DVD drive

I'd like to use Drive Genius on my MacPro, but can't seem to boot from the dvd drive whle holding down the C key. I've used it on my iMacs with no problem. Is there something new/different about booting up from the dvd drive?
Thanks in advance for all of your help.
Briant

DeltaMac will become famous soon enough
The boot OS on the Drive Genius disk is probably too old. Your Mac Pro needs a minumum of 10.4.7 - and the right version of that - or something newer to even boot. I suspect that the Drive Genius disk is older than that, and you won't boot without the newer version. Drive Genius has a means to create a newer boot disk (I think) at their web site.
