HELP Problem when booting my G4 Mirror Door 1.25GHz

My G4 was in every day use until recently when one morning it refused to boot. Basically the symptoms are you push the power button & the light on the power button comes on but nothing else & when you let the button go the light goes off. It was working fine the day befor & I have tried resetting the PMU but made no difference.

Any ideas?

Not sure this is in the right forum, but here goes. Not good news I'm afraid. I had a Quicksilver G4 which was exhibiting the same symptoms, though they were proceeded by a period where it would run for about 5 minutes before powering off.

After trying everything I could think of I had to come to the conclusion that it was basically dead. It is impossible even to run a hardware test so I suspected logic board at the very least. If you have a local Apple store it may be worth taking it in for them to take a look, but otherwise it is time to invest in a new one I'm afraid.

I see symptoms like this a couple times a month. The fix is usually replacing the power supply. The MDD model power supply is not too cheap, I'm afraid.
