Windows Xp not on disc with parallels

so i have the windows xp software a friend send to me. its windows xp home edition (bootable Sp2) edition. Can I use the software inside the mac with parallels or do i NEED to have the disc version.

I'm sorry but I cannot exatly understand what you mean.......
WIth parallels you can install OS's with their disks.
So if you have the disc of XP Home, sure you can use it.
Do you mean your friend gave to you it's virtual machine (the file)?
