Will InDesign CS work for OS 9?

Nope...you'll need to use InDesign 2 if you stay with the outdated OS.

InDesign CS Requirements:

• PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor
• Mac OS X v10.2 through v10.3
• 128 MB of RAM
• 350 MB of available hard disk space*
• CD-ROM drive
• 256 colors at 1,024x768 monitor resolution
• QuickTime 6.0 required for multimedia features
• For Adobe PostScript printers: Adobe PostScript Level 2 or PostScript 3

* 350 MB required for Adobe InDesign CS purchased as a stand-alone product. For Adobe InDesign CS PageMaker Edition, an additional 237 MB of available hard disk space required for the PageMaker Plug-in Pack. For InDesign CS purchased as part of Adobe Creative Suite Standard, 1.4 GB is requried for the whole suite. For InDesign CS purchased as part of Adobe Creative Suite Premium, 1.775 GB is required for the whole suite.

InDesign CS2 Requirements:

• PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor
• Mac OS X v10.2.8 through v10.3.8
• 256 MB of RAM (320 MB or more recommended)
• 870 MB of available hard disk space. Installation also requires free disk space on the startup drive, even if you install InDesign CS2 software on a different drive.
• 1,024 x 768 monitor with a 16-bit video card (24-bit screen display recommended)
• CD-ROM drive
• QuickTime 6 required for multimedia features (included in Mac OS X)
• For Adobe PostScript printers: PostScript Level 2 or PostScript 3
• Internet or phone connection required for product activation
• Broadband Internet connection required for Adobe Stock Photos

• G3 or later processor (PowerPC G4 recommended)
• Mac OS 9.1 or 9.2
• 128 MB of RAM with virtual memory on
• 120 MB of available hard-disk space for installation
• CD-ROM drive
• 256-color at 1024 x 768 monitor resolution (24-bit, high-resolution display recommended)
