| Software licensing
how can I determine what type of license i have on a particular program? (ie individual/site) I know how to do it in quark but what about the adobe programs.

It's either in the licensing/user agreement that comes up during the install process, and is usually a document called license or registration (or something similar) with most software in that software's main install folder. You may find info in the menus somewhere for that program. (I see a license under the Help menu in Safari, for example) Or look in the box when the software is purchased. If you cannot determine the status, how about contacting the publisher for determination, or just assume it is single user/system. Software doe not normally come with a multi-install or site license, unless the purchaser chooses that as an option. Anything specific that someone might be able to answer?

Alot of programs will alert you to the fact that they're not single user/single system. Take Quark for education...flashes that on the screen after the startup dialog box. (Windows version a buddy had for college...managed to get him to switch to mac/ID2now). I'd second the notion of assuming a single/single if in doubt.
