I've heard that powerbook batteries are hot-swappable, as in you can sleep the machine and remove the battery, and even if not plugged into AC power you have about a minute to put in a new battery, courtesy of a small backup battery.
I've also heard this feature is not present in the 12" models. Does anyone know if this limitation is true?
It is true. The current (from when the 12" and 17" PBook models were introduced > now) Powerbooks have that feature, excluding the 12".
