Superdrive specs (of the new iMac)

It's not clear if the imac superdrive is a 8-8-24 (as writed in Superdrive tab) or 8-4-24 (as writed in Tab specs tab),
while In booth pages it's mentioned that DVD reads 6x and writes 2x.

The specs of the Superdrive mounted on G4-Tower (I suppose a Pioneer) is
8-4-24 for CD, 2-4 for DVD

Now some questions:
- iMac Superdrive is a Pioneer?
- If yes it an evolution of the unit mounted on G4-Tower or it's the same unit?
- What is the real speed of the iMac superdrive?

Note that this is what I am told by an Apple employee in the QTVR list, since the same question popped up there. As he said, it is a Pioneer, and it is an evolution, so 8x8. But PLEASE don't take this as fact. Best way is to give Apple a short call...

If you looked on www.apple.com/imac , you'll see it is an 8x8x24x6x2 SuperDrive, compared to the PowerMacs which was an 8x4x24x4x2, I believe. I posted this in the new iMac forum, too, so look there.
