Sony CD Mavica and OSX

Anyone have ideas/experience about how to read write to the cd via the usb cable as is possible on Windows through Direct CD?
Also, can OSX read udf volumes? OS 9 can with the udf volume access extension installed.

to use your mavica in OS X, turn the USB connect mode on your camera to PTP. You can do this under the settings mode. It should then pop up when you plug it into the USB. into iPhoto or Image Capture or whatever. It will not on the otherhand, appear on your desktop as a disk. I dunno why it doesnt want to, but I'm guessing its an issue with the format of the disks (UDF?)
