Question Iomega CD-RW drives and MacOSX

    Hello all,

Just a question for you. Before upgrading my G4 cube, to MacOS-X, does anyone know if the Iomega range of cd-rw drives will work??????

I've looked on Iomega site and latest stated is 9.1, but does anyone have one of these working or should i stick with 9.x?

    cheers for any help

    http://www.apple.com/itunes/notes.html

If you scroll down that page, there's a list of iTunes on OS X compatable CD-R drives. If it's on that list of working OS X iTunes CD Burners, I see no reason why it shouldn't work in OS X in general.

I have the iomega zip 650 USB and it works fine with toast and itunes on OS X, the only problem is it's slow but that's a hardware issue not OS.

I have also Iomega ZipCD 650, And toast 4.1.3
But what is your toast. Toast 5 titanium? But that's sooo expensive.. And you got 4.0.1 when you bought that CD-RW drive.. So which one you have 4 or 5?

ps. Apple should do something to this DiscBurner.. It is so useless.. You can't even burn multisession discs.. Damn..

I broke down and bought Titanium. For $99 it really wasn't bad, I use it ever day and have no problems with it.

I can set a disc up to burn and go right back to whatever I was doing, really stable and doesn't choke.

Altought the drive is pretty finicky about what type of discs you use.

And the VCD plugin is pretty cool too, although I wish you could adjust the compression a little more but overall does a good job.

Oh. Here in Finland is cost about 200 € (Euros, which is about 175 Dollars).
A big pile of money. But you're right. I need it everyday, so why not make a lil' investment..

I also use the Iomega ZipCD 650. Many burning tasks can be handled by the built-in Finder burner, without needing Toast Titanium.

DiscBurner would be enough for me if it has support for burning multisession discs. But it doesn't have that. SO for that long i'm gonna use Adaptecs software. Or is it Roxio. eniwei...
