    GeForce2 MX almost obsolete?

Reading the recommended minimums for Jaguar, they said 32-meg video RAM. Is my GeForce2 MX with 32 megs now almost obsolete? As we all know, the recommended mimimums often are too slow.

    soon, my friend, soon.

I have the same card, and am thinking I will upgrade in another 6 months to a year... dpending on how fast the G4 gets or if there is a G5 out there...

Don't want to even bother spending $200-300 if the new CPUs are super fast.

Obselescence blows. Stuff is gettng too fast too soon these days, hardly even get a chance to get used to your machine before it's time to say goodbye.
    Current Setup:
    Quicksilver G4 733mhz ? OSX 10.2.4 ? 640mb ram ? 120 GB total HD space ? 19" LaCie Monitor ? Wacom Intuos Tablet ? Agfa Snapscan ? Canon BjC-2100 Printer ? Sony Digital 8 Camcorder ? Fuij FinePix Camera

Exclamation Fear not! OSX 10.2 runs well even on low spec'ed machines

According to the Macthis.org review of the developer preview version of OSX 10.2, there is a sizable improvement in screen draw performance even on lower than "recommended spec" graphic card systems. In this case the reviewer was testing on a dual processor 500MHz G4 with only an old ATI Rage 128 card (16MB).
While some of the extra processing could have been handled by the extra CPU, if Quartz Extreme is included in the preview (which I believe it is), it appears that both hardware accelerated screen draw (Quartz Extreme), and optimized Quartz code in general, are contributing to performance on ALL cards. In short, Quartz "should" run better that it does currently (where all the processing is being done by the CPU), simply because the code is cleaner, and work is being done by the previously dormant graphics card.
Hardware Specs: 27" i5 Intel iMac w/4Gb RAM running Mac OSX 10.6.4 SnowLeopard.
