Question G3 Desktop - how to update ram?

My G3 needs to be updated.
The G3 guide says I can update to 386MB Ram
in 3 slots. is this because they had only 128 MB Ram
at this time or does my hardware not accept 3x 256 ram cards?

Where do i get the cheapest ram?

Thank you
Markus

I can't really see how 3x512 could hurt your computer...

Thumbs up 768, Nothing More

You are right Makus,
your Mac will not accept more than 768Mb RAM
wich means 3x 256Mb

And a recommandation, please do not just put the cheapest
RAM in your Mac, it deserve good memory..

I personnally (and a lot of others) recommand Kingston Memory
a lot of people will tell you..Bahhh, dont bother and get the cheapest
But I can garanty you I am selling RAM everyday in my field and
I recalled Kingston memory once in 3 years and I can tell you that
all the other cheap brand, I recalled a lot...Please dont just go with the
opinion of one person with a good experience with cheap RAM, dont get
me wrong you can get lucky... but can you loose that time finding
what the problem is? sometimes defect memory can be weird to troubleshoot..

Anyway, you decide
