Sky+/tivo Recording Onto Mac

Hi,

I have a Sky + system (a personal hard disk drive recorder, simular to Tivo) and I was wondering... is there a way that I can record programmes I want to keep and burn them to DVD via my Mac?

I know that there is a provision to do this on to a standalone VHS/DVD player, that being press 'Keep' on my system, then play it back and record it in real time... but as I don't havea DVD recorder other than what's in my Powerbook, can I exploit its fuctionality here?

Is there a way to extract the information at quicker than real time?

Or... to put it another way...

How do a record a TV signal INTO my mac?

Any help would go down a storm!
