Wireless Networking...

What do I need to have a wireless network in my home. Obviously an access point and an airport card in my system... but what kind of WAP do I need, does it have to be a special kind, or will I be able to connect with any brand. I would love to just buy an airport base station, but they are so damn expensive comparatively. I ask this because I am looking at some and all I see is support for Windows systems. I dont see why my mac wouldn't work, since they all use the 802.11b protocol. Sombody please fill me in, thanks :-)

Captain Code will become famous soon enough
As long as you get a base station that's compatible with 802.11b you should be fine. Apple's Airport cards won't work with any propriatary things that certain base stations have, but for regular old 802.11b, any base station will work.

Is there anyway to use AirPort, (any type of 802.11b) on a Rev D iMac? USB?
