Epson 1290s

Hi guys

I have got an epson 1290s printer, before I had the epson 1290 which was fast in downloading the data to the printerspooler and printed fast. now it seems to be taken ages, first the download (simple A4 with text) and it takes ages to print. could anyone tell me why and what I can do about it?
