Best way to upgrade a TiBook 400?

I've decided to wait for the intel laptops before replacing my aging TiBook 400 mhz with 768 RAM and 40 GB hard drive. I am interested in either

1. Maxing out the memory

2. Buying a faster hard disk.

Would someone confirm that I can't put more than 1 GB of RAM in a TiBook 400? And would someone tell me that the fastest drive I can get is 7400 bps with 8 MB cache? Any other upgrade recommendations and specific products welcomed.

I don't do graphics work but do use a large DevonThink database and about ten other apps running concurrently. Maybe a faster hard drive is more important than more memory? Thanks again.
