Does the KB tell you how to do the reformat?
The firewire cable should be the exact same, just like the USB is the same.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in reformatting their Windows iPod into a Mac iPod? I know that Apple's Knowledgebase says it is possible to do that, but it is not possible to format it back to Windows format.
Also, does the Windows iPod package come with a different firewire cable than the Mac version?

Firewire cable would be the same... Firewire is a IEEE standard like USB...
Formating shouldnt matter unless you want to boot into MacOS.... I almost postive if you hook up your "windows" ipod to the mac it would work with no problems....

This is what KB says about how to do it ... but there must be a way back to Mac format ...

You can format it back, long as you have the windows software for it. Therefore you cannot format a Mac iPod into a Win iPod and use it legally without owning the Win software.
