Another Emac cd/DVD problem

I have seen a few posts on this but I wanted to put my specific question to the staff at macosx.

I have an Emac G4. Recently I tried to install the osx Tiger. The installation appeared to be taking hours so I cancelled out. Immediately my CD-DVD drive stopped working. I can open the drive and insert a disk. Then I hear some soft clicking (3 or 4 clicks) then the drive opens back up. Original CDs, burnt CDs, DVDs, software, everything.

So I'm thinking I need to buy a new CD-DVD drive. The Phillips CDD5101 looks standard and compatible. I am thinking of doing the replacement myself. Once the drive is in I plan on trying with the Tiger again.

Can you recommend a website that might give a step-by-step for replacement? Or will that info be included within the drive package?

Thanks.
