imac g4 memory upgrade - apple slot

Just got a 1 GB memory upgrade for my imac g4 1GHz 17". The memory is for the apple slot. I have been able to deduce that the recommended path is for "pro" install and that the issue is the heat-transfer glue that needs to be replaced. However, I have not been able to actually find the instructions for installing the memory, including what type of glue to use. I'm comfortable with the idea of installing this myself, but really need a step-by-step, if it's available. Thanks.

What kind of ram is that or what slot is that? I don't ever recall ram slots needing heat transfer material since they don't get that hot. Are you sure it's not just the heat spreader?
