iPod will not awake hi, My iPod will not boot to conciousness. I hear the hard drive spinning. The only thing I see is the "apple" in the screen. It does reboot (pressing select and menu) however it will not come alive. It seems to be stuck in the iPod OS. Is it a permanent coma? Do I need to buy another one? Pls let me know if there is anything I can do to fix it, thnx! Hans

Have you tried "restore"? 9 times out of 10 this fixes most problems - assuming your computer can see it. (The iPod software updater should be in your utilities folder - try downloading the latest from Apple) Otherwise try select & menu and then straight away (when the apple appears) select & play/pause. This should get it into disk mode, and you might be able to restore it from there. Siddie

Also make sure it is fully charged - charging from computer is not always good - better from a charger or speaker dock. If the battery is very nearly dead then sometimes they can't be charged from the computer at all and need a boost first on a charger. Siddie.
