G4 & Apple Remote ???

I was just wondering about using the Apple Remote with my G4. It says that I need a G5 since they come with built in IR receiver. My question is, if I just buy a USB IR receiver will I be able to use the Apple Remote. Im pretty sure the answer is yes, but I just wanted to double check. One more thing, would it be more practicle to just buy the Griffin AirClick USB Remote Control? Thanks.

Go with the Griffin Airclick. The built-in IR receiver in the current iMacs / Mac Book Pro / iPod Dock is most likely *not* a standard IR tranceiver port, which would mean that the USB IR receiver option just wouldn't work.

The Airclick has been updated to work with Front Row, I believe.
