| Failure on exit....any ideas??? Hi. I've got an external firewire HD and up until about 2 weeks ago everything was fine. But suddenly it won't mount the drive anymore. The disk spins up, but never mounts, After going through disk utility and trying to mount it there, Still no luck, It can see theres a hard drive there but when i try to either verify or repair the disk, it brings an error message up saying "The underlying task reported an error on exit" And then it just stops. Any suggestion??? Thanks in advance!!!! Andrew |

| You can either try TechTool Pro or DiskWarrior to see if either can repair the drive, otherwise reformat it.

| "error on exit" may be bad news about the drive itself, possibly a bad surface area on the disk. Sometimes, if you just mess around with it, if it's a relatively new ATA drive, it will "seal off" bad sectors and recover. Good luck. Dale Meyn. |
