1290s printer and G5 imac

I wish to print my photographs edge to edge, ie no margins at all.
I Have tried sizing the photo to the exact size of the paper but it still leaves a margin all round
Can anyone help me please

Operating imac G5 --tiger 10.4 --epson 1290s printer

I can help indeed my friend. This was something that bugged me for ages and then I just came accross the fix from messing around.

You need to add the no margins setting from the Printer Setup Utility (Applications --> Utilities --> Printer Setup Utility).

Click on the 'Add' button. In the new window that appears (Printer Browser) click on the 'More Printers..." button (bottom right).

In the new window that appears (make sure your printer is attatched and switched on) select 'EPSON USB' from the drop down menu at the top then highlight the 'Stylus Photo 1290' from table below. Next the 'Page Setup' drop down menu should become active from which you can select 'No Margins', amongst others, to add.

Now in the Printer List 'Stylus Photo 1290(No Margins)' should be listed along with your usual 'Stylus Photo 1290'

Now when you go to print the no margins option can be selected as if selecting a different printer. I have no idea why they do it this way but I guess they must have a good reason.

If the no margins option wasn't there when you followed my instructions you may need to download and install the latest driver from the Epson website. I'm pretty sure you don't need to but I had already done so when trying to solve this problem so I'm unsure if it made a difference or not.

Hope this helps

Thanks Stewey for your time and trouble, however Im not there yet.
All goes well to a point where in the print list I get the following.
SP 1290 (1290)
Stylus photo 1290
I have highlighted either of these but do not get the page set up menu.
If I click on info in the top bar of this panel i get a printer info panel which has a drop down menu with the following
1 name and location
2 printer
3 installable options
I click 3 but panel is blank
I have also downloaded the latest driver 1.6 from epson, so at this time Im stuck again.
I really do appreciate your help and hope you can take me a stage further
Kind Regards Derek (shedek)

Hiya Derek,

I think I see where you are going wrong so I've taken some screen shots so you can see how it looks on my computer. It makes more sense if you can just see what I'm on about. See attatched image NoMargins.jpg

Hope all goes well

Stewart

print full page

Hi
I have got all that you get EXCEPT I do not get "page setup"as you do in the printer browse box

Ie your photos 3and 4 I have as that but no page set up.

I must say you deserve a medal for all this as my local apple centre new nothing. I really am so very grateful, but it looks as though something is not fully loaded

Kind Regards

Derek

How strange and must be very anoying. Not sure what to suggest now. Could you maybe take a screen shot (Shift, Apple Key and 3 - the picture saves to desktop) of your printer browser box like mine in steps 3 & 4 and post it here?

Not sure I'll be able to help but its worth a look
