Hard drive wont mount :(

I recently installed a new internal hard drive to use as a slave, and upon booting up it worked perfectly. That is until I had a Kernel Panic and was forced to reboot, and now the disk won't mount on startup nor does Disk Utility mount it, even though the disk is recognized. This is on a G3 B&W tower running 10.3.9. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have a "Revision 1" or a "Revision 2" B&W G3 machine? The earlier "Revision 1" machines only support one internal hard drive (it's a bug, fixable by adding a PCI ATA card or upgrding to a "Revision 2" machine).

Does the bracket for the stock hard drive also have mounts for a secondary hard drive directly above it?

No bracket, but I just erased the drive and it's been working fine. Kinda a bummer since there was some stuff I didn't have backed up on it, but it would crash at bootup as a single drive, so there wasn't really any other choice I guess. Thanks a lot anyway though.

Yep, that's a "Revision 1" machine... might wanna read up here a little on data corruption and using two IDE drives in that machine:
