OWC's Seagate vs. Seagate's Seagate?

I don't want to put my own external firewire hard drive together by buying an enclosure, etc...

The OWC's Mercurcy Elite hard drive houses the exact same Seagate 7200 hard drive as does the one made by Seagate itself. Which one is better and what makes it better. I am sure that other companies also use the same internal Seagate in their enclosures. Which company does one go with when they all house the same drive inside?

Also are they all fanless drives? And plastic housing or aluminum housing: which is better? Like OWC has the Elite Classic (plastic housing) and their Elite Pro Al (aluminum housing). Of those 2 which would be better and why?

thanks,

bluemack
