| Overclocking a Powerbook? I'm toying with the idea of upgrading my 17" Powerbook's CPU through this outfit: http://daystartechnology.com/Apple_M...ook_AL_PS.html It costs $400 and increases the processor speed to 1.83GHz. Any opinions, experiences, caveats?

| You might want to read review here: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/G4CARDS/d...GHz_PB_G4.html From what I've read, it causes problems, it will lower your battery life, and it's too expensive. Even if you do pay the $400 to upgrade, you're still light years behind the intel macs. I would just save up for a MacBook, or MacBook Pro.

| I, too, would say it's too much money invested for the gain. If you have 400 USD (or more) now, I'd simply wait until you can buy a good replacement. Of course a 13" MacBook would - screenwise - be a serious downgrade. On the other hand it'd be a mobile computer. :P

| Well OK, then, I guess I'm effectively dissuaded from that idea.......too many negative points "muddying the water". Thanks for helping to clarify the matter.
