iBook G3 no video

I have an iBook G3 that took a dump on me for a bad video cable. My brother opened and disconnected the video cable to stop the computer from having seizures. It starts up fine and I can log in (assumed) based on the noises the hard drive makes, however the external screen it's attached to does not display anything. It cannot target disk to my PC either. I have seen G3 iBooks without a display. Any idea what's involved in making the computer run headless or any ideas I might be able to try?
