| Hi, Having a problem with the Firewire on my eMac. I tried to upload some music on my iPod using a firewire connection but it didn't mount. I tried to connect my external HD using the firewire connection but it wouldn't mount. The external HD and the iPod are recognized by Disk Utility but are grayed and it says they are not mounted. When I put the computer to sleep the external HD goes to sleep and wakes up with the computer so there is still some connection there. They also show up as connected to the firewire connection in System Profiler. Tried the tips at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=88338. Didn't work. I've tried the iPod and the external HD on my MacBook with the same cables and everything works so it's not the cables. Out of curiosity. I hooked up my La Cie DVD/CD burner via the firewire connection and inserted a music CD. The CD mounted and played properly. So it seems the Firewire connection itself works. Any suggestions? |

| Disconnect any external drives then Reset your Mac's Pram. This may help.
