Gamepad controllers for iMac dual core

I need help in deciding what the BEST gamepad controller with the least amount of user complaints is that will work with my dual core intel Imac. The configuration is as follows:

Machine Name: iMac
Machine Model: iMac4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: IM41.0055.B08
SMC Version: 1.1f5

I understand from googleing that the Logitech controller is not rated well although it is advertised as top notch.

My game preferences are racing games, combat games, first shooter games.

Any advice or help provided will be appreciated.

Well, I purchased two of the Logitech Dual Action USB gamepads and they work great right out of the box on my iMac G5 running 10.4.8 despite what you mentioned. I use them with my son to play MAME and some other games.
