Trying to Resize a Partition (Nondestructively)

I'm trying to resize a partition (without losing any data) that's on an external hard drive of mine. It's 300GB, but I deleted a different partition, and now I'm left with my original partition plus 60GB of unpartitioned space.

I've already tried the following to resize the partition without reformatting:

-Used iPartition, but claims that there's no "Partition Map" so I can't resize.
-Used VolumeWorks, but the drive doesn't show up in the panel.
-Tried doing it manually through the Terminal (diskutil resizeVolume JFS+ [location of the disk] 298G)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I had a similar situation with an external drive, a Seagate 300gb firewire drive. I had it partitioned into three drives and wanted to resize it into two drives.
After a frustrating week of looking into it, I ended up copying everything onto my internal drives and reformatting the Seagate into two drives.
As far as I know, this is your only option, to copy all of the external drives' files onto another drive and reformat.
