| Dell 2407 WFP Flat Monitor on a G4? Hello, We have just purchased the Dell 24in Widescreen LCD monitor to test in the studio here at work. We are currently trying to run it on a G4, spec as below. Machine info: Machine Name: Power Mac G4 Machine Model: PowerMac3,5 CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.0) Number Of CPUs: 1 CPU Speed: 733 MHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB Memory: 1.5 GB Bus Speed: 133 MHz Boot ROM Version: 4.2.5f1 Serial Number: CK139HVZL4Y Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX Chipset Model: GeForce2 MX Type: Display Bus: AGP Slot: SLOT-1 VRAM (Total): 32 MB Vendor: nVIDIA (0x10de) Device IDL: 0x0110 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: 1057.019 Display: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 @ 75 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Memory DIMM0/J21, DIMM1/J22, DIMM2/J23: Size: 512 MB Type: SDRAM Speed: PC133-333 The NVIDIA GeForce2 MX doesn't seem to support the 1920 x 1200 at 60hz, optimal display resolution. When in 'Sys Pref > Displays' it only lists 1920 x 1200 at 76 and 85hz as options and doesn't work (screen grab attached). It is using the VGA lead as supplied. Is there a 'driver' we can download which will allow us to use this monitor on the G4, with this graphics card? We have downloaded the following from the apple site: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...reupdater.html But when installing it tells me there is nothing to install and stops. Would using the DVI ports give us more options on the resolution? But we would have to use a ADC > DVI connector for this. Thank you in advance for any help with this matter. | the problem is that the geforce 2 cannot drive that monitor. it just doesn't have the power. you need to upgrade the video card to use that monitor.
