Replace Combo with Super Drive

I'm a little green with Mac hardware (not so green with those other machines...) and I need to know if it there is anything I should be aware of before attempting to buy a SuperDrive and replace a ComboDrive in an iMac G4. Other than the obvious cramped quarters and physical ends of things, are there any incompatibilities that I should know about (BIOS, OS, etc.)?

Thanks,
Frank

The most important thing I can think of is that the drive be bootable in a Mac. I bought one from MCE and it performs flawlessly. Here's a SuperDrive of theirs tailored to the PowerMac. It goes for $59.
