non-Apple mp3 player
Hi! this is my first post and i'm in need of help. I recently got a yp-z5as and
i have been using it as a UMS or usb drive on my macbook pro. It was working fine for a month. Then now when i hook it on the usb port the mount or the generic icon for the usb doesn't show on finder anymore.
I tried that finder>preferences>and i have the check on removable drives, hdd's. I look into the system profiler and it shows this:
Bus Power (mA): 500
Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec
Product ID: 0x5041
Serial Number: 28AF200070B98DC128AF2000D884ADC1
Vendor ID: 0x04e8
Also it doesn't show on Disk utility, i ran the repair permissions on the mac HD and nothing still. I upgraded the firmware to the latest version (i used the PC to do this) on samusng's website, and the new firmware allows to make the player always be in UMS mode, i did that and nothing still.
I went the the store i bought the player and had the person look at it. He tried on the PC and it came on as a removable drive and it works, then he tried on 2 diferent apple computers 1 of them using the newest 10.4.9 and it came up on the desktop T_T.
I think my player doesn't like my mac. LOL i just can't figure out why is doing this. I'm using a intel mac with the 10.4.9. it;s a usb powered mp3 player and is the only usb thing hooked on the mac.
Help would be very nice ^_^
